Goa Beaches:
Anjuna Beach: Anjuna Beach is located about 18kms from Panaji and is situated in Bardez taluka. This is part of a 30 km stretch of beach coastline along the west coast of Goa by the Arabian Sea. It is around 8 kms. West of Mapusa, North Goa. The most basic attraction is Anjuna beach is Flea Market, Chapora Fort. The best time to visit this place is from November To March. The exotic beaches of Anjuna are the main source of enduring popularity to a variety of people. Bathing is generally safer than, at most of the nearby resorts, too, especially at the more peaceful southern end, where a rocky headland keeps the sea calm.
Baga Beach: Amongst the popular beaches in India is the Baga beach Goa. Baga Goa lies 10 km west of Mapusa and really speaking is an extension of Calangute. Baga Goa is the perfect getaway for those looking for a little bit of peace and quiet after the activity of the other two beaches.
Baga is a fishing beach with brown sand that sees a lot of international tourists sun-bathing in its golden sun, as a grove of palms gently sways in the wind. The Baga River flows along one side of Baga beach Goa offering a good alternative for children and those who are not too confident about swimming in the sea. Baga Goa's nightlife is the liveliest in Goa and is the perfect expression of the Goan and Western mix of culture.
Candolim Beach: Candolim beach in Goa offers you that and incase you want to indulge in sports activities, then Candolim beach offers you that also in plenty. So, in order to fully enjoy Candolim beach in this Indian state of Goa, you can take a call on both the places: the places filled with activity and the places offering quieter moments. Besides this, special beach excursions are also a must if you want to capture some memorable sunsets. Goa Candolim beach is situated in the north of Goa and lies close to the Sinquerim beach. From the Candoilm beach you can see the Fort Aguada, as this beach is located just below the fort.
Dona Paula, Panaji: 7kms from Panaji. An idyllic picturesque spot. Command a fine view of the Zuari River and Mormugao Harbor. Water scootering facilities are available here. It is near the rocky point between the Mandovi and the Zuari is Dona Paula, a secluded bay with a fine view of the Marmagao harbor. This is an idyllic spot to relax and sunbathe. The Mandovi River, also known as Gomati, has its origin at Bhimgad in the Sahyadri range of mountains. This river enters Goa from the north via the Sattari taluka. Before merging with the Arabian Sea at Cabo Aguada, the Mandovi flows through Cumbarjua, Divadi and Chodne. In Goa, the Mandovi has a length of 77 kilometres.
Panaji, the present state capital as well as Old Goa, the ancient capital of Goa are both situated on the left bank of this river. Water scootering facilities available.
Vagator Beach, Panjim: Besides the breath-taking beaches, Vagator has other attractions also to offer. From Goa Vagator beach, you can see the 500-year-old Portuguese Fort. It takes you down the memory lane depicting the Old Portuguese era. If you want to hike up to this fort, you are welcome climb up those black rocks and reach this fort, once inside the fort, you won't mind the fatigue you are feeling because the view from this fort is absolutely stunning, you get to see wide expanse of greenery and the blue sea till your eyes can reach. The one thing that you can shop till your heart's content is fish, there is a market nearby where purchase them. The nearest airport is at Dabolim, which is 29 km away from Panaji. Panaji is just 22 km away from Vagator beach in Goa. If you are traveling by road, Goa Vagator beach is at a distance of 9 km from Mapusa, and 22 km far from the state capital Panaji. There are frequent buses to Panaji and Mapusa from Vagator.
