The City Palace: The City Palace is one of the most important landmarks on your travel to Jaipur. The palace complex has numerous buildings, courtyards, impressive gateways and temples. It occupies one seventh of the walled city of Jaipur and the buildings are built with a blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture. The palace houses Sawai Jai Singh's seven story high Chandra Mahal moon palace popularly known as the city palace, Mubarak Mahal, the Diwan-e-Aam and Diwan-e-Khas. The former ruling family still lives in the Chandra Mahal.

Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum: The outer courtyards with Mubarak Mahal, Sarvatobhadra and Diwan Khanna and the ground floor halls of Pritam Niwas and the inner courtyard have been converted into a public museum, which is now called as the Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum. The museum houses an extensive collection of rare manuscripts, Mughal and Rajasthani miniatures, Mughal carpets, costumes and textiles, arms and weapons, objects of art and royal belongings. Hawa Mahal: Hawa Mahal or the palace of winds is the most strikingly designed monument and the most popular place to visit on your travel to Jaipur. It is a multi-layered palace with profusion of windows and stone screens. The poet-king Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh built this palace in 1799. The Hawa Mahal is a remarkable structure that overlooks one of the main streets and provides some excellent views of the city. Dedicated to Lord Krishna, it is shaped like a mukut or crown that adorns the Lord's head. It has over 900 niches and is quite unique.

Albert Hall Museum: Located in the middle of Ram Niwas Garden of Jaipur, Albert Hall was built to commemorate and honor the visit of Prince of Wales to Jaipur. Designed in Indo-Sarcenic style, the hall was completed in 1876. It was opened in 1887 as a public museum. The museum has a vast collection exhibits those include sculptures, paintings, decorative art objects, natural history specimens, an Egyptian mummy and a celebrated Persian Garden Carpet. Moti Doongri, Jaipur Moti Doongri and Lakshmi Narayan Temple: Moti Doongri is a privately owned hilltop fort built like a Scottish castle. The Ganesh Temple at the foot of the hill and the large and modern Birla Lakshmi Narayan Temple built in marble are also noteworthy on your travel to Jaipur.

Travel Tips: The pink city of Jaipur is well connected by Air, Rail and Bus. Buses of Rajasthan Roadways ply at regular intervals for places in and around the city of Jaipur. There are Indian Airlines, Sahara Airlines and Jet Airways flights for Jaipur. Apart from the regular trains from major cities, there is a specialty train Palace on Wheels which is available for taking a round the Rajasthan trip starting from Delhi and covering Jaipur, Alwar, Udaipur, Sawai Madhopur, etc. The climate of Jaipur is hot & humid in summers and chilly in winters. Maximum temperature during the summers reaches a high of around 45ºC. On the other hand winters have sunny and pleasant days and bitterly cold nights. Temperature can touch a low of around 5ºC, mostly during the nights. The best time to travel to Jaipur is during winters.

Nearby tour to Ajmer: Travel to Jaipur would take you to Ajmer, situated on the South west of Jaipur. The city was founded by Raja Ajay Pal Chauhan in the 7th Century A.D. and continued to be a major center of the Chauhan power till 1193 A.D. The present city of Ajmer is a popular pilgrimage center for the Hindus as well as Muslims. Especially famous is the Dargah Sharif-tomb of the Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti, which is equally revered by the Hindus and Muslims. While on tour to Ajmer you can also see Pushkar, the abode of Lord Brahma, lying to its west with a temple and a picturesque lake. The Pushkar Lake is a sacred spot for Hindus. During the month of Kartik, devotes throng in large numbers here to take a dip in the sacred lake.
